April Goals

Firstly, I’d like to say that I can’t believe that we’re in the fourth month of 2016 already. How did that happen?! This year’s going so fast, and up until now I haven’t been setting myself clear goals. Yes, I’ve had many thoughts and ramblings on random pieces of paper with what I want to do etc. but nothing specifically official. I believe that if I write my goals down, and can see them clearly I will be more inclined to stick to them. (Hopefully!)

So here they are, my goals for April:

1. Drink more water

This is an absolute MUST. At the moment I’m so bad at drinking water, I barely drink a glass a day. I don’t know why because I know all about the amazing benefits of drinking a lot, and it’s free. I also quite often have many of the symptoms of dehydration- drier skin, feeling tired, no energy, feeling hungry, headaches. So it’s silly that I’m not just simply drinking more water.

Goal: Drink 2 litres of water daily

2. Become more mindful

I have read so much about the benefits of meditation, and it makes sense. Being mindful and fully aware of your surroundings surely makes you feel happier and content. If it works for celebrities, I’m sure it can work for me too! I have downloaded the Headspace app and will start today. I am also going to my first ever yoga class next Monday (Hotpod Yoga) which I’m very excited about.

Goal: Meditate daily

3. Stick to an exercise plan

Next Monday I am starting a new exercise plan- Kayla Itsines’ BBG. I have been following her for a while, and think the results of the girls following this plan is incredible. The thing that strikes me most is not their amazing body transformations, but their stories, and the transformations inside. Everyone says how it’s changed their way of thinking, and attitude towards life as a whole, resulting in them feeling a lot happier. I think that starting this off could be quite tough (I like my bed in the morning!) But with it only being 1/2 an hour every day, I can surely commit to finding time for it.

Goal: Exercise for 1/2 an hour daily

4. Sort out my finances

Seeing as the 6th of April marks the start of a new financial year, I think it’s timely for me to sort out my finances. From the start of this year I have been quite good with saving money in one sense- I set up a direct debit on payday from my current account to a savings account. But where I’m lacking is the unnecessary everyday spending on thing like a coffee, lunch, chocolate bars, magazines. I NEED to stop this. I will also change my accounts about to ensure that I’m getting the best rates going. Hopefully by the end of this month my accounts will be looking healthy.

Goal: Reorganise my bank accounts and write down everything I spend

5. Blog consistently

This is something I really want to achieve. I love writing and expressing my thoughts. Although with a full time job, I think blogging every day or every two days would be a bit much. And for me, I think once a week would be too little and I might fall behind. I have decided therefore to post 3 times a week, one post a week on each topic. On Monday I will post about self improvement and inspiration, Wednesday’s will be for posting about country/farm life and The Friday Post will be miscellaneous- possibly beauty, home decor, fitness updates etc.

Goal: Post 3 times a week

So there they are, my 5 goals for this month set out in writing. Let’s do this!
